Welcome to the Mystery Lift challenge for November 1 – 15, 2009!
This is similar to a speed scrap, but without the speed. And it’s similar to a scraplift, but you don’t get to see the layout you’re scraplifting until the challenge is over! Hence the mystery. I’ll be back to show you the layout we’re lifting on November 16th.Remember the rules: * Be sure to upload your layout to the Mystery Layout Challenge Gallery, and be sure to include credits so we know what products you have used. Then come back to this thread and post a link to your layout by 11:59 p.m. EST on November 15 so you’ll get credit for playing. * You’ll earn 1 point for completing this challenge. * You can earn 1 extra point by using predominantly MLAS goodies on your layout. * You may only get credit for the layout once, no duplication. You can look here for a complete list of rules about the challenges. And don’t forget to go here to track your points for November. Ready to get started? Here’s what you will need: * 2 patterned papers * 2 solid papers (1 light, 1 dark) * 3 horizontal photos, each cropped to approximately 3” x 4” * Use 1 of the patterned papers as your background. * Crop the 2nd patterned paper to 11” x 11” and center it over the background paper. * Crop the light solid paper to approximately 6” x 10.5”. This paper should be going vertically down the left side of the 2nd patterned paper so that approximately 0.25” of the 2nd patterned paper shows from behind the top, left and bottom edges. * You will journal on the light solid paper. Yes, there is A LOT of room to journal. Journal from the top to the bottom of this paper. Channel your inner writer. Think about the story the pictures tell. What do you want to remember? What do you want others to remember when they look at this layout? * Crop the dark solid paper to approximately 4.5” x 10.5”. Place it to the right of the light solid journaling paper. This will be your photo mat. * Crop each of your 3 horizontal photos to approximately 3” x 4”. Place the photos one above the other evenly spaced down the photo mat. * Place your title in the lower right corner of the layout overlapping the bottom of the bottom photo. * Place an element cluster in the lower left corner of the layout. * Place elements peeking out from behind the left side of the photo mat, going all the way from the top to the bottom of the photo mat. * Place one element near the middle of the layout, overlapping the journaling paper and the photo mat between the top two photos. * Place an element cluster at the top right corner of the top photo. * Place an element cluster on the right side of the layout between the middle and bottom photos. * Be sure you’ve included the date somewhere in your layout. * Don’t forget to add your drop shadows! Have fun! I can’t wait to see your layouts! Last edited by mmarti2564; 11-15-2009 at 08:23 AM. |

Well that was interesting, it is the first time I have done anything like this. I hope I have it right.
